Happy anniversary, Chernobyl!

Today is the 24th anniversary of the nuclear meltdown at Chernobyl. The city nearest the power plant, Pripyat, was abandoned afterwards. The power plant itself stayed in use, both in the USSR and later in independent Ukraine, until 2000. For more information:

A day and B day classes: no more homework

Hey all,
We are in the final stretch of getting ready for the IB exam in history. With the completion of the Chile test, we have completed all the new material I plan to teach you to get ready for the exam. This means we will be doing review, etc in class. You need to complete any make up homework assignments by Monday, May 3rd (before IB exams) in order to improve your grade for the semester.
Homework due Wed, 4/21 for A day classes and Thurs, 4/22 for B day class

Complete a study guide for Chile in order to study for the test. The test will include:
Section A: 4 terms (describe the person or event and explain its importance in 2-3 sentences)
Section B: one essay question. The question will ask about the transition from democracy to dictatorship to democracy in one Latin American country. The country you will choose to discuss is of course Chile. You need to understand the problems and changes economically, politically and socially.
